Jeannelle Ramírez is curator, festival producer, multimedia artist, writer, and researcher based in Austin. She is the founder and director of Future Traditions Fest, a platform for innovative Latinx performance. Jeannelle curates collaborations between experimental composers, multimedia artists, folk musicians, dancers, and performance artists to present transdisciplinary performances that explore the intersections between experimentation, technology, multimedia, and the rich heritage of music and performance practices from Latin America and the Caribbean.
Jeannelle is a Ph.D. candidate in Ethnomusicology at the University of Texas at Austin where she researches Latinx festivals and technologies and holds a BA/BFA in Jazz Performance from The New School (NYC). She also creates experimental electronic music under the name Las Raras.
