Alyssa Taylor Wendt & Kate Csillagi

Alyssa Taylor Wendt is a multidisciplinary artist, filmmaker and curator that works in Austin, Texas and Detroit, Michigan. Her recent projects reference themes of ritual, animism, monuments, mysticism, the primordial, architecture, gender and mortality using video, sculpture, staged photographs, sound and performance. She earned her BA from NYU and her MFA from Bard College. She has shown in numerous national and international exhibitions and performed at The Museum of Art and Design in New York, envoy gallery, The Fusebox Festival and Deitch Projects and completed residencies in Iceland and Norway. Her recent opus multi-channel video work HAINT was the 2018 official winner at the Istanbul International Experimental Film Festival. Kate Csillagi lives and works in Austin, TX. Csillagi creates provocative and absurd narratives by way of fabric collage, drawing, and found object assemblage. Csillagi’s works unearth psychotropic, sacred, and primal imagery while maintaining a whimsical approach. Inspired by society’s misfits, her work explores themes of duality, the supernatural, and the playfully forbidden. Csillagi has shown work and contributed to renegade art spaces throughout the United States in Reno, Nashville, New York, Olympia, and Austin. ICOSA is an artist-run, non-profit cooperative gallery that showcases a diverse range of contemporary art and programming. Established in 2005, ICOSA is home to a collective group of artists, well known nationally and internationally, who have received numerous prestigious awards and grants and whose work is featured in various major collections.
