Kirk Lynn and Peter Stopschinski

Kirk Lynn lives in Austin, TX with his wife, Carrie Fountain, and their daughter, Olive Lynn Fountain. Kirkwrites plays, generally with the Rude Mechs theatre collective. He is one of six artistic directors for the Rudes. Kirk is the Head of the Playwriting and Directing Program in the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Texas at Austin. Kirk was the USA Jeanne and Michael Klein Fellow in 2011 in Theater Arts.

Peter Stopschinski (composer/performer) composed and recorded string arrangements and organ on Grupo Fantasma’s Grammy Award winning album La Existential as well as composing for and/or performing with DJ Spooky, PBS, Rude Mechs, Golden Arm Trio, and also worked on the Richard Linklater film A Scanner Darkly assisting composer Graham Reynolds. Peter is Composer for Rude Mechs’ production I’ve Never Been So Happy, a western musical about the New West. I’ve Never Been So Happy was developed as a selection in the NEA New Play Development Program, and received residencies at The Orchard Project, The University of Texas New Musical Theatre Initiative and two workshop productions The Off Center. He is currently the resident composer (since 2003) at the Austin Waldorf School where he created a musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Tale Of Two Cities in November 2009.
