Lisa Anne Kobdish
Austin native Lisa is a modern dance artist who values collaboration and high-energy performance. She earned a BFA in Dance from UT Austin, before moving to London to tour with Transitions Dance Company and complete an MA in Performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire.
After time abroad Lisa settled in Brooklyn, NY, to pursue a creative life—developing dance theater ensemble work with Romulus NYC and social justice dance films with Semillas Dance Collective, and performing with acclaimed Kristin Sudeikis Dance and Depth Dance.
Upon returning to Austin in 2016, Lisa joined Kathy Dunn Hamrick Dance Company and took on roles with Austin Dance Festival, including Co-Producer for “Dance on Film”. She continues to perform and collaborate with celebrated artists like Blue Lapis Light, BLiPSWiTCH, Ventana Ballet, Ty&Co, and co-produces with Dance Carousel. While she thrives in explorative settings and working alongside companies, she also deeply values creating solo work that explores themes born from solitude, desolation and introspection.
