Tiny Park presents new work by Miguel Aragon
Miguel Aragon’s new series of works on paper focuses on his very different “lifestyles” in various environments over the last few years (Juarez, Mexico; smalltown middle America; New York City). Differences in landscape, weather, clothing, social interactions, pace, and population density all contribute to these shifts in approach to the environment. Aragon uses the physicality of the paper—tearing, cutting, and puncturingas a way to express psychological states and experiences.
Aragon received an MFA from UT Austin. In 2012 he was voted Artist of the Year by both the Austin Critic’s Table and the Austin Visual Arts Association. He has exhibited at the International Print Center New York, Austin Museum of Art, MexicArte Museum and galleries nationally and internationally.
