JASON PHELPS + ZELL MILLER III + FUSEBOX
Zell Miller, III is an interdisciplinary theater artist based out of Austin,TX. He is a company member with Hyde Park Theater and the founder and Artistic Director of ZM3 Productions. Miller was writer, director and lead performer in the Austin Critics Table nominated Hands up Hoodies Down; director of the award-winning Hunger; and is a published playwright with Theater Communications Group for his self-penned autobiographical award winning one man show The Evidence of Silence Broken. He has a trilogy of shows inspired by his two children Zell IV (16yrs) and Blaise Marley (8 yrs)–the critically acclaimed one man performances My child, my child, my alien child and Oh sh@%t….it’s a girl and his latest Oh snap, my alien children are trying to kill me have had great success. Miller has taught and worked with youth for over 25 years.
Jason Phelps is an award winning multi-disciplinary performer and teacher who has been involved in theatre, dance, music, commercial acting, voice-overs, and education for over 30 years. He is an Artistic Associate of Capital T Theatre where he has performed in There Is A Happiness That Morning Is, Detroit, The Strangerer, The Dumb Waiter, Song About Himself, and recently produced HIR. As a dancer, his solo work Listening To Spiders was part of Fusebox 2011 and he has also performed with Heloise Gold, Margery Segal, and Deborah Hay. Jason’s performance company, Jason Phelps & Co produced FEAST of my HEART and the father/son documentary theatre project, In His Shoes, in collaboration with Zell Miller and Jeffrey Johnson.
Jason has been an elementary school teacher for over 12 years and currently has his own tutoring business Jason Phelps Teaches. He has taught and coordinated theatre classes and workshops for children and adults for over 30 years.
