Matt Smith + Students of UT Austin The School of Design and Creative Technologies + Chris Conard

Matt Smith teaches a 3D Projection Mapping course at UT Austin.  His students will be responsible for the 360 degree interior mapping of the installation, designed by Chris Conard.

Chris is an Austin-based live entertainment designer and storyteller. He graduated from SFUAD in Santa Fe, NM with a BFA in Technical Theater design in 2014. Since graduation, Chris has focused on expanding his skillsets, talents, and exploring the intrinsic connection between art and the viewer. Recently, Chris won Best Set Design in the 2017 Austin Critics Table Awards for his designs of The Totalitarians/The Drowning Girls. Chris was awarded a B. Iden Payne award for Outstanding Set Design in 2017 and Outstanding Lighting Design in 2019. Chris is currently pursuing his MFA in Design and Technology from The University of Texas at Austin.
