Steve Moore & Physical Plant Theater

Physical Plant Theater is a non-profit arts organization located in Austin, Texas – founded in 1994 and dedicated to the proposition that theater should be free or inexpensive to attend and accessible to all.  We work strenuously to reach diverse and under-served audiences for whom high ticket prices function as barriers to access.  We rely substantially on private and public funding to maintain inexpensive tickets while continuing to produce new and original work whose precision, elegance, and artistry coax audiences into worlds of mystery and provocation.

Steve co-founded Physical Plant Theater in 1994 and has since written or had a hand in writing fifteen of its eighteen shows.  He is a two-time recipient of the David Mark Cohen New Play Awards, and holds an MFA in Playwriting form the Michener Center for Writers in Austin.  His most recent play in Austin was “Adam Sultan”.
