Exploded Drawing is an organization based in Austin, Tx whose aim is to elevate the Texan electronic music community by encouraging creativity and conversation among artists and listeners. For over 7 years E.D. has hosted performances from over 300 artists from all over the world with official showcases in Austin, Houston, Bryan, Los Angeles, NYC, Chicago, and New Orleans. For Fusebox Festival 2018 they will be teaming up with #bossbabesATX for a very special showcase highlighting some of the most creative and influential women in electronic music with artists from New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, and San Antonio. This project is supported in part by the City of Austin Economic Growth & Redevelopment Services Office of the Cultural Arts Division.
#bossbabesATX (#bbatx) is an online and offline space for women-identifying and nonbinary creatives, entrepreneurs and community organizers. Through our event series, showcases, strategic collaborations and professional development programs, we build educated, empowered and more equal creative communities. Within the last year, we’ve provided a platform of visibility, outreach and financial opportunity to 900+ Texas-based women artists and women-owned businesses and nonprofits. Anna Wise is a Grammy Award winning artist and a frequent collaborator with Kendrick Lamar. Over the last couple of years, she’s also self-released her last two albums “The Feminine: Acts I & II”. SassyBlack is a jazz vocalist & producer based in Seattle, WA. This Goddess of “electronic psychedelic soul” & “hologram funk” explores sound through deep compositions. She self releases her own work and was a member of the group, THEESatisfaction.
DOT is a producer / vocalist / and multi-instrumentalist , a fusion of electronic, indie rock, and R&B elements has awarded her a role as a one of the scene’s most respected emerging talents. Whether providing cutting edge beats as part of LA beat collective Team Supreme, or fulfilling her role as founder of her own female focused music label Unspeakable Records,
Linafornia grew up around Leimert Park, the home of Project Blowed – the longest running hip hop open mic workshop in the world. She’s one of the few LA producers that deviates from utilizing laptops during live performance. Everything you hear is an arrangement of real-time techniques.
VHVL: electronic music composer Veronica Lauren from Harlem, New York and signed to Leaving Records. Culled from the resonant void, emotive melody and passion-beats stirred with details of nuanced noise.
