Golden Hornet’s mission is to reimagine classical music through collaborative creations & adventurous programming with commitments to justice and innovation. Drawing on the collaborative spirit of rock bands and the composer-led nature of classical music, Golden Hornet commissions new music, fosters young and emerging composers, and presents adventurous works in non-traditional settings. As a composer laboratory for the 21st century, the organization actively seeks out and welcomes the influences of varied traditions, practices, and ways of thinking, and changes the landscape of high quality, classical composed new music to one of greater diversity. Golden Hornet’s latest project is MXTX: A Cross-Border Exchange.
