Born in Toronto, but based in Montreal, Sherwin Sullivan Tjia is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice blurs the boundaries between performer and audience. Incorporating elements of childhood and nostalgia, Tjia’s events create contexts that welcome participants to open and unsettle themselves, often in acts of radical intimacy or unexpected collaboration. He gently seduces participants into regressing and revealing themselves under the auspices of “having a good time”. He has toured his events (Cardboard Fort Night, Strip Spelling Bee, Slowdance, Catmusement Park, The Naughty Bits Book Club) nationally and internationally.
