Tim Schmidt, Ezra Masch + Amy Yoes

Tim Schmidt was born in Paoli, Indiana. After leaving the forest hills of Southern Indiana he also found adopted homes in the Sangre de Cristo range in New Mexico, the Texas hill country, and Chicago’s West Side. He is currently figuring out why he lives in Brooklyn. Since receiving his MFA from the University of Texas at Austin in 2011, Tim has been working as an artist and furniture maker, and has been trying to keep his studio warm through the Chicago and New York winters. His work has been shown at the former Arthouse at the Jones Center in Austin, TX and Blue Star Lab in San Antonio

Ezra Masch is an inter-disciplinary artist from Philadelphia who creates sculpture, installation, sound and performance works. Masch received a BFA in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2004, and an MFA in Studio Art from the University of Texas in 2012. He also attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in the Summer of 2011. After returning to Philadelphia in 2013, Masch joined Tiger Strikes Asteroid, an artist-run gallery space at 319 N. 11th St. He currently teaches Sculpture and 3-Dimensional Design courses at the Moore College of Art and Design.

Amy Yoes grew up in Houston, Texas. She has lived in Chicago, San Francisco and, since 1998, in New York. Her videos have been seen in many venues, including the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC.; MassMoca, North Adams, MA; and the Wexner Center for the Arts, Columbus, Ohio. She has held residences at the Maison Dora Maar, Ménerbes, France; AIR, Krems, Austria; McDowell, Peterborough, NH; and Yaddo, Saratoga Springs, NY; and The British School at Rome, Italy. She has been a visiting artist at many institutions, including the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, University of Las Vegas Nevada, Maryland Institute College of Art, and the Siena Art Institute. Upcoming projects include a site specific installation at the Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts in Cambridge MA for the exhibition “The Way We Live Now, Modernist Ideologies at Work”, curated by James Voorhies and a one person exhibition at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
