Youth Rise Texas

Youth Rise Texas uplifts Austin-area teens harmed by criminalization — particularly the incarceration, detention, or deportation of a parent — so that they may heal, take action, and cultivate compassionate communities.  Via their #ArtsForward approach to education and organizing, they create provocative, consciousness-raising works centering the voices of those directly impacted by our nation’s most punitive policies, recognizing that discursive cultural change is imperative to building political power, and that art is a powerful tool for moving hearts and minds.
