Department of Transformation Workshop

Prem Krishnamurthy
Presented in partnership with FÖDA + Northern-Southern

Fusebox + FÖDA are partnering to host the Department of Transformation: a five-day workshop imagined and led by acclaimed designer/author Prem Krishnamurthy. This multi-day series examines how art can be transformative for individuals, groups, and society, and explores strategies for transforming art in the future.

How can art be transformative for individuals, groups, and society? What are strategies for transforming art in the future? Polymathic designer Prem Krishnamurthy explores these and other questions in an extended, multi-day experimental event series. The program prototypes tools for collaboration and connection that comprise an intrinsic part of contemporary creative practice. Using writing, music, movement, and conversation (+ karaoke!), this multimodal workshop opens up polyvocal ways of working in and on the world.

About FÖDA:

FÖDA is diligence and humility. FÖDA is an analysis, a 7,265–day ongoing exploration in applying form and utility to our client’s intentions. We’ve delivered over 700 assignments, each making experiences more memorable, brands more competitive, or companies more profitable.

First-time dreamers and established entrepreneurs entrust us with their vision and challenges. Chefs, architects, and maestros translate their beliefs through us. Their fieldwork has taken us from Berlin to Bentonville, Tampa to Tokyo, sifting through data, discovering practical advantages, and mapping critical context.

We’ve provided a $2B company with a new identity yet produced artifacts as tiny as a paperclip. We’ve helped shape both an airfield and an art museum. We’ve given an image to a symphony just as we have a name to a restaurateur’s concept.

Bring us your challenge, intention, dream, wicked problem

—the odds are better than 92% that we’ll solve it.

The outcome will likely be quite handsome.

Art, after all, is one of our tools.
